PTA 2435 Clinical Practicum II

Advanced experience in the clinical setting under the supervision of a clinical instructor who is a physical therapist or physical therapist/physical therapist assistant team. Application of theories and techniques for patient interventions, documentation, and interprofessional collaboration. Students will complete 300 practicum hours in 8 weeks.

Outcomes

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of relevant body systems, interactions, and health-related concepts at entry-level.

  • Students will implement appropriate physical therapy interventions for various conditions during treatment of patients/clients in a Level 2 clinical as identified in the plan of care established by the physical therapist to achieve patient/client goals and outcomes at entry-level.
  • Students will perform functions associated with the delivery of physical therapy during a Level 2 clinical at entry-level.
  • Students will effectively participate in health care activities during a Level 2 clinical at entry-level.
  • Students will participate in community health activities during a Level 2 clinical at entry-level.
  • Students will participate in practice management activities during a Level 2 clinical at entry-level.
